Another month (in fact another year!) and another part of this story. Note: no, it's still not done. The holidays intruded and I'm sorry, but I just can't make it a simple, happy ending. If you'd like, though, stop reading four paragraphs before the end and you can consider the story completed

Kudos- much belated- on another enthralling, emotional chapter. Kirsten may initially be frozen into immobility, but there's no ice queen in the woman literally trying to hold herself together as events unfold behind the locked door. Thankfully the sight of Ryan, awake, is enough to steel her into protective mamabear. Kirsten's tentativeness and Ryan's --? -- guilt? at coming between her and her father....? [as always, when it's in no way his fault] may yet overcome those [gloriously poetic!] "shy slivers of sunlight"--

Lovely stuff, this. Those rare moments where he receives her gentle caress it seemed like time stopped- and a happy ending was in sight. But I hope you keep listening to these characters; I'm not ready for this to end.
