if you live your life trying to make others happy and give them what they want, you will never be happy yourself. any one that has a brain knows this is true.

or maybe most mothers have their daughters best interest at heart from day one. if she was truly happy, don't you think her mother would acknowledge and celebrate that? who wouldn't want their child to be happy? and fact she considers her mom's opinion tells me she must value it to some extent.

true. but there is a difference between voicing your opinion and trying to sway your child to make a decision. my parents tell me what they feel is right or wrong, but they always say at the end of their lecture "whatever you decide, i will support you." that's how it should be. because in the end, it's about what i want, not what someone else wants.

you should probably at least acknowledge the reasons why she wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

mothers have their child's best interest, they want to see their children happy. so if she'd loose sleep over it, its probably cause she'd be worried about your happiness.

sometimes "love" can cloud our judgment and we miss the bigger picture.
