i was scoping out apartments in nyc on craigslist and was wondering what this broker fee business is all about. i've never negotiated a lease here in sf so i'm just curious what this is ( Read more... )

i believe for the most part a brokers fee is like 10% of what your rent would be in a year...

exactly.. there are services you can pay a montly fee to that will fax you no fee listings daily.. and of course there are usually some no fee listings in the papers.

you should look around astoria for apartments. its not too far from the city and ive heard that its a decent area. and from what ive seen on craigslist its pretty reasonably priced considering these factors.
