I'm actually getting ready to write up a campaign for a few of my friends to play, I'd be more than happy to write up a couple of low-level adventures if you want! Steph told me you found some 3rd ED books at michaels. I run 3.5, but the rules aren't too different. Give me an idea of what lvl they want to play and I'd have no problem doing all the grunt work for you! :)
I haven't talked to Teri and Bill yet, so I can't really give an answer. Tris has only barely read through the players guide ...and that's pretty much all of his knowledge about role playing, so as far as levels goes...definately supre beginner level one type stuff.
I'll talk to you more about it later this week or something, my parents are in town so I'm a bit distracted right now.
We talked to Chase, who is moving into town today in Jonathan's building, and he and John would be stoked to write an easy campaign and teach Tris how to play. Chase is an amazing teacher, patient and easy with words, and the boys drafted me to play along @ Tristan's level. SO, when your folks leave and things get back to normal, and if Teri and Bill say "yay", let John and I know, and the three of us will be glad to help Tris figure out the game.
This is off topic, but you know my fiance. Do you remember a Melissa Robbins (She always used to come into The Drop, she dated Mike and was friends with Jess?)
1. Any of you artist types good with chalk-art? I'm gonna need some chalk art done at the Roastery. I can work up either some payment or a line of credit at the Drop. Comment here or gimmie a call on my cell. 224-3767
I can do some lovely chalk-artwork for you... :D
I would just require some specifics from you on what kind you want, and a small fee for my time would be much appreciated.
I'd love to show you some examples in person. I am moving this weekend. I'm busy on Labor Day & Tuesday with work. I could possibly come to meet you Wednesday morning, or I can come by the Cafe sometime on Thursday with some of my art. Unfortunately, I don't have them posted online anywhere for you to have easy access to view for yourself.
I love the idea of having more than one person doing some chalk art all over the place! I would not be offended at all. The more, the merrier! I would more love to express myself in a creative way for others to appreciate, than concentrate on the other fact.
There is a set at Goodwill in the children's book section. It is pretty complete and an entire campaign thingie. It was there tonite - so it might still be there in the morning. It has character sheets, and rule books and books that talk about each kind of character, characteristics, weapons, armor, you know the whole bit......

I'm looking to get a few different styles all through the place, so don't be offended if I don't offer the whole-meal-deal up to you!
