Cheese

I'm fairly new to being vegan and I'm trying not to give in to my cravings for cheese.

Is there anything that actually tastes like REAL cheese and it isn't made with mustard/seed/powder or chemicals????

Open to making it myself or buying it and I no longer care about the cost.

Thanks!

When I first went vegan, I was scarfing the Lisanatti brand Almond Cheese, but now I've lost my taste for cheese altogether and pretty much avoid it. The Lisanatti is very tasty, though.

It might be helpful if you worked out what it is about cheese that satisfied you, then try to find a replacement with these traits. I never cared for chesse but every so often I do find myself thinking about my Mums roast chicken dinner. The way I remember it is greasy, salty, hot and crunchy so something with all those traits like chips satisfies that craving.

I quickly recognized that when I was craving cheese, I was really craving the protein from cheese. I upped my protein intact and cheese craving went away - unless I hadn't eaten properly.

Maybe you could look into that you just aren't eating enough of something and then just eat more of that something....

In my opinion there is no really good vegan cheese alternative.
If you don't want to give into your craving (which is probably for casein, not cheese itself) then just avoid it all together. As a vegan I eat almost no cheese alternative because I don't like any of them, homemade or other. I also do not miss dairy cheese anymore. The cravings will eventually go away.
