The Good Ole Days

Kampai and Chickamauga
So, since yesterday was my birthday, we celebrated by my mom going to work, my dad going out of town, my little brother being a big dickey (as usual), and me going to the doctor. Sounds like a blast, huh? I must admit that I was feeling pretty bummed out that nothing too fun was going to happen on my b-day besides me taking a day off of work and getting to sleep in. Despite the dickey start, my birthday turned out to be a pretty good day as it saw the reuniting of the dickey trio (me, Preston, and Seth). So I woke up at 12 to my little brother watching cartoons with the volume on full blast, but i needed to get up anyways because my doctor's appointment was at 1:30 in Hixson. So I went down to get my nasty 2 week cough checked out and got a Z Pack prescription and then drove home to find my brother having set it up so that I would drive him to his friend's house on the other side of the mountain, which I did because i was in a suprisingly good mood.
Anyways, so then I came back expecting Preston to already be at my house as I had talked to him after leaving the doctor's office to confirm our plans to hang out. He wasn't there, but he lives in Dunlap and it takes a while to get from DUnlap to anywhere. Well after waiting for another hour and a half he finally showed up as I was changing to leave and just meet Seth out at his house. It turns out when Preston says that he's heading out the door he really means that he will first take a shower and watch an hour of TV before heading out the door, just a word of advice to anybody who might be making plans to hang out with Preston. But Preston is such a nice guy and good friend that I couldn't really be mad at him, so we quickly left my house and met Seth and went to Kampai of Tokyo for a meal, a birthday meal for me. They treated me, which was quite nice of them, and we promptly had a dickey good time rehashing and being bastards all through dinner. (Ex. Preston telling the chef "I don't want any of that" in a hasty and dickey tone rather than the more commonly used and more accepted "No thank you").
Well, Kampai left us full and in dickey spirits so we decided to go down to Chickamauga Battlefield and Park to nut around and perhaps find some ghosts or just deer as it turned out to be. We climbed Wilder's Tower(where a kid was once scared to death by something in the middle of the night and jumped out of one of the windows high up and ended up paralyzing himself) and trekked a few "wilderness paths" with Seth carrying his knife to ward off any devil worshipers looming about.
All in all we had a dickey good time. My birthday also saw phone calls from Garry down in Oxforde town in between Dress Hells (He was sorely missed), my aunt who lives in Delaware, and finally Drew on the West Coast who is faring well with his girlfriend, job, and house. My birthday didn't quite stack up to last year's extravaganza, but what would, and I'm very happy that I got to spend it with two good friends who I don't get to see too often.
I think I might be going out to Preston's for a party/get together tomorrow night, at least I hope I am. That would be a good bang to leave Chattanooga on for a while (Gov. School starts this Sunday). Speaking of Gov. School, I still have to get my 1 minute monologue together to audition with, find a morphable object to bring for a show and tell the first night that represents me, and pack. Combined with a half day of work tomorrow, I will have my plate full until I leave.
For those worried that my family doesn't care about my birthday, have no fears. My mom didn't have to work today and my dad actually came back in town last night so we had a big birthday meal tonight for me and my birthday present will come in the form of a big trip sometime in the future. I'm really lucky to have such wonderful parents. I wonder if I'll be countering that statement if they don't let me go to Preston's? I'll be mad but I'll still love em for sure. Well, another day documented and another entry complete. THis is addictive. I guess I'm hooked.

Stagekissing Already
So, I just got out of our second rehearsal for Metamorphoses which moved from the story of Midas to the story of Alcyone, in which I play King Ceyx. So after thoroughly embarassing myself during the storm scene, which brings about my death, we move back in time to the scene just prior in which Alcyone attempts to stop me from leaving. So as we progress through the scene it comes to a point where we say our goodbyes. The following are the direct quotes that followed:Director: Now during this line you will have to kiss her several times and ya know say your goodbyes. So go ahead and just run that.(Mary Catherine and I look at each other strangely)Me: And you want us to go back and do that...say our goodbyes...now. (Nervousness in the pit of my stomach begins to rise up)Director: Yes. Now go.So we did, much to the suprise of everyone else in the room except the director. I must say, for knowing somebody for 5 days, and me being involved, we certainly are moving a bit quickly. Well, it will probably be a damn good kiss by opening night. (Side note: Mary Catherine is definitely an attractive girl so I really have no objections)So, moving on, yesterday was a very good day. After a funfilled morning of learning Ti Chi and an auditioning class, which one guy slept through because his roomate, a bigtime asshat forgot to wake him up (this was a source for many inside jokes), we went through the afternoon and then decided to skip out on the optional skating trip. Best decision of the day as that free time (something we rarely have) led to much fun and a very nice bonding time between some of the kids in my theatre classes. Most of these people are really awesome. I really wish I could take all of these people back to Chattanooga and add them in with my current group of awesome friends. I honestly do miss you guys at home, so feel free to comment or email me with anything that is up, or maybe I'll do that for yall. WEll I'm about to go to the Frist Center so I need to get going. Hope things are going well.
