To any icon makers out there, is there any really good way to pimp yourself so that people come to your journal? It just seems that whenever I post to a community I get comments which is great but no one visits my actual journal. I tried posting teaser icons to like 15 communities so that people would visit but that was a complete failure, I had

Argh, what a pain! And it's not like your icons are crap or anything, you make excellent icons. I don't always get lots of comments. In fact, I got heaps of comments about the SONG I was listening to, not the icons I was posting and I was like 'grrrr, talk up the icons, not the song!''' Of course I didn't say that, but yeah. I know how you feel.

:O you make icons! Where? Urgh, I *hate* it when people comment on something that's *not* the icons. SO ANNOYING. I'm not saying that my icons are fantastic or anything, but icon makers worse than me get more comments x_x it's very sad.

Damn straight I do! I made all my current user pics. I love making icons, it's one of my greatest passions. You make excellent icons, but I know what you mean about the commenting thing, it's just so annoying sometimes, when you put your heart and soul into icons and get pretty much no response. Like I made this batch of icons featuring a Bollywood actor named Akshay Kumar and thought some of them were the greatest icons I'd ever made, and I got virtually NO comments on that entry, and I went off my head about it. Such a pain.

My friend (jazzling) were talking about this the other day. She was saying how it's always the icons you're really proud of that no one comments on. It's a hard life we lead, messicat.

You need a contingent of fangirls. I have heard the best way to get them is to make LotR or HP icons, emphasising what I believe is called the "hott-ness" of male cast members. Then you spam like a doozy.

You might feel unclean afterwards but there's a saying that makes up for that somewhere. Probably a line from There's No Business Like Show Business or something.

I would offer to pimp you in my journal but the only shivvy and you read it. I dont imagine that would help much.

I could dress up in my hott hott pimp coat and stand around talking you up and trying to sell your journal to dirty men.

I dont think that would help either.

I dont know if you've seen it. Its sort of cheap-velvet and its black with grey faux fur all around the outside. The fur is flecked with bits of white. Its like pimpTACKULAR

I spelt it TACKular because its tacky.

I haven't seen it. But then, I haven't seen YOU in like fifty hundred years. Apart from Supernova but that doesn't count. It's all very sad :(
