Like Kurt said last night, CHRISTmas is no longer about the presents or food (take out chineese for my fam, lol). I really couldn't care less about the "things" that seem to gravitate to Jesus's birthday. What a huge sacrifice for him. Perfect, painless life in heaven to mortal life...I don't know if I could do that. What a God we serve eh?

Christmas was different for me as a kid. I didn't really have the deep contemplation that I do now, so it was just a happy day where I did nice things for my family and they did nice things back to me. I also recognized it as an important day for my religion. It's different for me now that I think about it. Yes he did give us an amazing sacrifice. We too give a sacrifice on this day, but it's nowhere near as influencial :P We go out of our way and spend our often VERY hard earned money to buy things for our loved ones because it will bring a joyful smile to their face. After having bills, paying for expensive classes and books and all sorts of other expenses, I can truly appreciate what parents do to make sure their kids have a happy holiday season. It really is a great day for lots of families who celebrate Christmas the right way.
