[The feed starts with Haseo walking back into Goldenrod from a training session with his team. There's a Murkrow flying right above his head, a Plusle clinging to his shoulder and a Wigglytuff following closely behind him.]

I've been thinking about changing the way I plan out my team for a while now, so I was wondering... Does anyone here plan out ( Read more... )

I have been planning out a battle ready team of Pokemon with different skills and weaknesses so hopefully I will always have a Pokemon capable of fighting what we come up against. But, some how I ended up with two flying type Pokemon anyway.

Two flying types? How'd that happen?

I caught a Pidgey because I thought I needed a flying Pokemon and then I noticed some one was selling some eggs for a different kind of flying Pokemon… and I couldn’t resist!

[He shrugs] Sometimes you just can't. Which pokémon was in the egg?

Eh? When it comes to Pokemon teams, I just switch around when the time calls for it. I always keep my strongest three in the main party, though.

Yeah, I do that too, but sometimes I end up having a type disadvantage no matter what.

... I guess when you get to a high enough level, though, it doesn't matter as much.

I never really planned my team out, but it still works.

I guess you just got lucky.

Yeah, guess so. There were some holes in the lineup for a while, but they were easy to fix. What about you? Trouble?

Not a whole lot. If you train enough, you can smooth out any problems that might occur.

Do wild Pokémon follow you around very often?

[ ... ] Anyways, I've been thinking about what types of Pokémon would be good for the Gym battles and trying to plan around that.

Yeah. They do.

[He nods.] That's not a bad idea.

That's... not normal, is it?

... Probably not. It's normal for them, though. [He eyes the Murkrow just above him.]

It's important to keep a balanced team. I try to have at least one of all the major types except grass, and I rotate depending on what I'm up against.

[Hmm, what else can he share?]

Try not to have too many of the same type on your team at a time. That's the biggest problem with Gym Leaders; they're way too easy to predict. Also, if you can, try to use the move tutors and TMs. It can help balance out your Pokémon's weaknesses.

[He nods.] I think mine is balanced for the most part, but... I still think it could be better.

... Why don't you have a grass type? [because he has one of his own]

Bad experience with one. Plus, I've got about eighteen Pokémon already.

[And they have a ton of weaknesses.]

What happened with it?

... Eighteen? [Looking a little surprised at that because he's been here a while he only has seven.]
