Characters: Kuchiki Byakuya, Kuchiki Rukia, and OPEN to those at the party

Where: Fifth's halloween party

Summary: By 'convincing Bya to have a good time', we mean 'booze'. * ...Well, a 'good time' might be beyond him, but it's just enough to let him relax a little, anyways.
Byakuya sighed as he filled his glass with the citrus punch again. Why was he even here? It was a human holiday, this kind of gathering was not his idea of 'fun', and they weren't even serving proper green tea. But Renji had personally invited him, so it was only polite to put in an appearance. At least this punch was not sweet, he thought as he surveyed the room over the rim of his glass.
Standing away from the crowd against the wall he watched a parade of officers dressed as various ... things go by. Not having a great knowledge of human culture he could not imagine what some of those costumes were meant to portray. He was intently looking at one style of costume that seemed popular, something involving a large hat, an odd combination of rags and tight leathers, and sometimes an eyepatch, when something moved near his elbow. Flinching slightly, he looked down to his right to see Rukia, her wide violet eyes turned up to him. Rather disconcerted that he had flinched, he looked down coolly at her. She was dressed in yet another costume that he had no idea what it was supposed to be - little horns poking out of her hair, tight red dress (if it could be called that - his lips turned down into a frown), long red gloves and tall red boots. Behind her she held a pitchfork that minded him of Shiba Kaien's shikkai.
Feeling vaguely uncomfortable with his thoughts, Byakuya decided to wait for Rukia to speak.
