Very pleased...

Soooooo..... I made my first ever wedding cake for our best bud Johnny and his lovely new wife. Gotta say I'm very pleased how it turned out! Not bad for a first effort at sugar craft and wedding cake making! :)

Devils food cake covered in Belgian white chocolate.

Cake emporium is definitely a go is this is anything to go by, sweets!

Nice to hear from you - and congrats to Johnny! He's the guy we met when we first met you, isn't he?

xx

It is indeed the same 'Johnny'. Never thought we'd see the day! :)

And thanks. One day. Got an order for a christening cake and two more wedding cakes off the back of this cake. Squeeeeeeeee.

Oh, wow, this all looks very pretty *and* yummy.

I'm in awe (whenever I try to cook, I mostly manage edible, but beautiful? Not so much...)

Wow - they're brilliant! I love to bake, but I've not quite had the nerve to poke my toe into the decorating pool, although I really want to try. I think I'm going to give it a go for Annabelle's birthday. And those cupcakes - I want the recipe just on the basis of the photo!

This is the first time I've ever 'decorated' a cake. I'm usually more of a old home style baker. I usually bake Victoria sponge, Dorset Apple cakes etc for people but it was fun and...well...thankfully turned out for the best.

The cupcakes are just vanilla sponge (Delia all in one recipe) and bog standard butter icing. The white ones were flavoured with rose essence and the purple ones were flavoured with kirsch and cream de cassis. :)

Thank you! If it's a Delia, that's even better. Have you ever tried making her chocolate beer cake? That's probably the most requested recipe I've ever made.

It all looks beautiful, and scrumptious!

Sadly, I always have to avoid such things, due to the gluten thing. But one can admire from afar...

Talented thing, aren't you? *g*

LOL Well, I found out at age 7, so I'm used to it by now. I don't really miss it.

Besides, it helps me keep my figure!
