Ok, so I finished reading 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' about an hour ago, and so here are my thoughts
Just some thoughts that come into my head at this very moment in time...
Poor Hedwig!! Didn't see that happening. I even thought before hand that he would have to leave her behind, but for her to die :( And then Harry to blow her up :( :(
EVERYONE knew that RAB was Regulus Black, and we'd already seen the locket, so no surprise there.
Nagini being Bathilda and so coming out of her neck...ewwww...
Dobby!! On screen, he is annoying, but in the books, he is very loyal, and so his death/Harry's reaction/burial was so sad. And yes I shed a tear for the house elf!!
NEVILLE!! He was a true Griffindor too, and so could pull the sword out the sorting hat and cut off Nagini's head!! So brave!! And like the idea of him as an outlaw!
I started crying at the thought of Remus and Tonks lying side by side...And then went into full crying mode, which pretty much lastest the rest of the book. It was Snape's story that got to me. I always knew Dumbledore had asked him to kill him, but that he did everything for Harry because he loved Lily, and Dumbledore knew it...awwww...so I guess the whole thing about Harry having Lily's eyes was cos of Snape?! Bit anticlimatic, but makes sense.
I loved the fact that there was swearing in this book...people are fighting to the death, and yes it is technically a children's book, but they're not gonna all be goody-two shoes!! Main examples are Mrs Weasley calling Bellatrix a bitch and then killing her! Woo! And Hermione calling Ron "a complete arse"...loved it!! So English!! Wonder what the US version of that is?! Ass perhaps?!
And so Harry knew he had to face Voldemort and 'die'...and so he walked through the forest with James, Sirius, Lupin and Lily!! :(
Not too sure about the end 'Nineteen Years Later'...It made me cry (again!) when Harry said that Snape was the bravest man he knew!! And I knew that Teddy Lupin was gonna be a player :p But not sure whether it was quite what I needed.
Oh yes and Voldemort was defeated! Woo!
Wow...just read a post of someone else's LJ - that cos Snape loved Lily and Harry had Lily's eyes, that's why he asked Harry to look at him before he died...OMG!!!! :(
Suprisingly (and also cos I read for 6 hours on Friday night!) I finished HBP yesterday at about 11am, and so was able to start reading DH then! After reading HP for the last few weeks, I am now bookless, and so will have to decide what to read next!!
And, oh yeah, it's my birthday today. 23. Woo(!) Not doing anything today, but am doing a couple of things in the week. But have tomorrow off work, so 4 day week is not bad either!! And also only 3 weeks left until my holiday to Italy, which I am very excited about!!
