I do believe that these dates have molded me in huge ways, but I don't wish to relive them always.
Since theology is important to us both, let us both for a moment ponder my theology of time.
Eternity is a continuum stretching infinitely into both directions, the future and the past. It is not a series of dates. It is a pool in which we can wade or swim or float.
As we are being prepared for eternity, let us not be shackled by events, episodes, dates, whether they be for joy or for horror. The goal is continued growth towards identification with (or, at least, "association" with, if you prefer that to "identification" with) God.
We are, ultimately, eternal beings. Time has little meaning, though events shape us.

Nonetheless, I shall pray. In the here and now.

Especially if God decided to see fit to open a few coffeeshops in heaven.
One can hope. :)
