Abby's Apartment, Sunday afternoon/evening

Oct 28, 2006 21:25

Abby's apartment is very dark and the sounds pouring from the room are a mixture of goth rock and eerie Halloween sounds. The overhead lights are off and orange lights illuminate a menacing skeleton tableau. Just beyond that is a sign:

Professor Abby's Haunted Apartment!
Enter if you dare!

First Stop
Right around the corner, a skeleton on a chain swings forward across the walkway. An evil laugh can be heard from another skeleton in the corner.

Blair grinned at River and bounced forward around the corner. "Don't worry, I'll protect you from any-eep!"

When the skeleton swung forward, Blair jumped.

River gripped Blair's arm with her blue-gloved hands. "It's a fake skeleton," she commented.

"Sure it is." Blair nodded, eyeing the skeleton warily. "I wasn't scared at all, just getting into the spirit of things."

Blair shifted so he was holding onto her hand. "So what are you dressed as again?"

Second Stop
Through a black curtain is a very dark hallway. The only illumination is coming from the portraits on the wall. Someone looking very close might notice that Abby's plasma screens are getting use tonight as they host four very strange moving pictures.

"Disturbing relatives," River commented. She hoped she wouldn't get nightmares about that scary little girl.

Blair blinked as he watched the man take his head off over and over. "No kidding."

River gave Blair a nervous look and held on to his arm. Not the broken one, mind you.

"Perhaps we shouldn't stay too long in their company?"

Third Stop
Fog from a hidden machine floats across the floor of the bedroom and occult symbols are drawn on almost every surface. A Ouija board sat on one table and another table was full of candles, gruesome statues and voodoo dolls. Every few minutes a blast of cold air would blow from one corner and an ghostly image of a lady in white would appear over the bed.

Blair, with River holding tightly to his arm, entered and looked around. "Hmmm, do you think it's going to be another skeleton?"

River clung to Blair. "That would be too repetitive," she said. "What are those dolls with needles in?"

"Voodoo dolls. They're made to represent a person and then you can inflict injury or suffering on them by poking them with needles or binding them with string." Blair lectured. "Sorta creepy and not all that nice, although I haven't seen hard evidence that they work."

Fourth Stop
Every haunted house needs a creep-out room and this one was equipped with lots of bowls to stick your hands (or your date's hands) into and figure out what lay inside. There were bowls of peeled grapes for eyeballs, warm wet spaghetti for intestines, and jell-o brain. A creepy fountain in the corner ran with red kool-aid.

"Bowls?" River asked. "I guess the contents must be scary. And look, there's a fountain with fake blood." She sounded quite enthusiastic.

"That's...pleasant." Blair blanched. "Ooh, I know what this is all about! Here, give me your hand and close your eyes."

He held out his hand to direct her over to the bowl of peeled grapes.

River closed her eyes and let Blair place her hand in the bowl. She shuddered at first then giggled. "Peeled grapes feels like eyeballs?"

Fifth Stop
The next hallway is bathed in red light and roaches and spiders are strewn across the floor, and glued to the wall and ceiling. Some of the little rubber bugs hang from thin strings and while they might feel rubbery, walnut shells on the floor give off some satisfying crunching sounds.

A little curious about what Abby had come up with for this stop, Wilson was a bit perplexed by the hanging rubber bugs, until his foot hit one of the shells and crunched sickeningly.

Wigged out at first, he quickly got into the spirit of things and grabbed a rubber bug.

"WATCH OUT!" He shouted and tossed the bug at Phale.

Maybe...not the smartest thing to do when your lover had immediate access to a large flaming sword...

Fortunately for Wilson, the angel wasn't the sort who generally went for his sword first. However, he was feeling a tad on the protective side, considering the creepiness of some of the stops then been through. So when the rubber bug came flying at him, he reacted instictively.

And the bug exploded into flames before disappearing in a flash of light.

"Er...terribly sorry about that."

Wilson blinked!

That... was an angelic move he hadn't seen yet. The sword, force power throws, miracling, he'd seen all those but not the exploding into flames bit.

"Uh...wow..."

And...heeeeyyy he was supposed to be a villain, right? So, he was totally picking up another rubber bug and tossing it at Bund.
