Wasn't the root canal supposed to help?

After 1 1/2 hours in the dentist's chair (and $741 more), my mouth hurts worse than it did before the root canal.  My jaw aches, my cheek is swollen, I feel exhausted, and the area around the tooth in question is more painful than before.  Not fair!  I think applying ice just makes it ache from the cold, and I'm not supposed to take any more

Thank goddess for friends who are healers! Otterdaughter (who came with me to Tall Ships Tacoma last Friday) had some time to spare before catching her bus home, and she walked me through filling myself (including the painful area) with unconditional love, relaxing, and letting the pain be held without my holding on to it. By the time she was finished, the pain was completely gone. When I feel a little bit of pain coming back, I re-relax and it goes away. So much better than drugs!
