We are so close to being done. All that is left is tiling the floor and the baseboards ( Read more... )

I think the ceramic tile that looks like wood floor would be good looking if it had the right color grout and not as big a gap. When I went back to the store, it turns out that they have laminate wood flooring that's approved for bathrooms and is cheaper than the tile. Yea!

It doesn't sound like the same thing, but they put in tiles that look EXACTLY like hardwood here at the office. They're AMAZING. You'd swear it was wood, but then you feel it, and it's tile! Fabulous. Dump juice on it? It comes right up! (why they need that in a boardroom, I don't know... messy businessmen?) But there isn't any grout here, so it's not exactly the same, but still- same concept. I have faith that yours will look great, too ( ... )

The great thing about the laminate flooring is that it is more durable than real hardwoods. We have laminate wood floor throughout our house and it looks good. Considering how hard my boys are on the floors, I'm glad we have the fake stuff right now. Now, when they get older (and are around less/respect our stuff more) then I might push for the real stuff b/c there is just no comparison looks-wise; the real thing is so much better looking.

I ended up getting laminate wood flooring (not the ceramic tile) that's approved for bathrooms. It was cheaper than the tile. Who knew?

FYI in case you haven't heard, but Yahoo has the Keira P&P theatrical trailer up. I didn't know Brenda Blethyn was Mrs. Bennet! I think she's a fantastic actress and I will probably enjoy her version much more than that of the BBC actress.

Doh! I have to respond to my own comment now that I've watched it. It's been so long since I watched the BBC miniseries that I cannot remember if it showed the Chatsworth House as the exteriors of Pemberley, but the trailer does so, which gets HUGE bonus points with me. There's a theory that Jane Austen modeled Pemberley after Chatsworth, or was at least inspired by it. Very nice...

Hi, um, I'm new here, and I would really like some friends who are solid Harry/Hermione shippers. Ron/Hermione shippers are more often than not really hurtful about which ship I choose to support, and so I decided that I want H/Hr shippers only as friends. So, I'm friending you. Friend me back?
