Into the West

I had such high hopes for this mini-series. Word to the wise: this ain't Lonesome Dove. The dialogue is horrible, the voice over is worse. This episode was set in 1825-1829 and all I could think about was, "Hmm. I wonder what Lizzy and Darcy are doing over in Derbyshire."

I'm so pathetic I think I'll go read Pride and Prejudice.

Oh, crap. I had wanted to watch that. Completely forgot about it, but if you say it's bad, well. I've always loved westerns, so I did have some hopes for it... Time to bust out the Clint icon... Lizzy, meet Blondie.

You're not pathetic, but that is an excellent choice in reading material. That mini-series didnt look appealing to me, now Im glad I didnt watch it.

Oh, thank you for sparing me. Lonesome Dove (IMO) is the Western to end all Westerns. Mr. Annearchy and I have probably watched it at least 3 times, maybe 4. We never tire of it. So...I guess I'll skip this one.

Dude, it was like...

It never freakin' went anywhere. I'm hoping that it was all groundwork, but I have the horrible feeling it wasn't.

I was all excited as well (a six-week television event!) and it was just...blah.

It just skimmed the surface of everything...nothing had any emotional resonance.

The local newspaper tv critic says that the second hour is better. They were only sent the first two hours to preview. I'll probably try hour two b/c it has Keri Russell in it. I'll give it one more shot. I hope the voice over isn't by the Jacob character. He's annoying.
