I love it if only because it restores my faith in all that stuff planted ahead of time. I think while we wait...3 years my guess...I'll reread them all looking for Hufflepuff and GRyffindor stuff.
So, Voldemort used the diary to transfer that portion of his soul from the diary into Ginny. A living receptacle. I like the theory. But, what happens when she dies? Will Voldemort go after her to try to regain that portion of his soul?
I *was* disappointed in the apparition lessons, yes. Actually I think that's another example of how a year's worth of fan fiction has spoilt me. I noticed the emphasis on the twist-and-twirl and thought that was bollocks - where did that come from, as you say - but also was surprised that it was such an unpleasant experience for Harry. We've never had a hint of such from the other books, and in fact with Fred and George apparating all over the place I wouldn't have thought it was disagreeable at all. And yet Harry says he prefers other modes of travel to apparation, I think?
Special SErvice plaque??? Wow, that's brilliant. But...isn't that really obvious? Wouldn't V. realize D. would figure that out?
What else would V. "collect"? Something of Lily's or from the Longbottoms? Hmmm.....maybe we can put the ACAD devotees to scouring the books for odd items she's mentioned.
But, would the Special Services Plaque occur to DD? I wouldn't think so. Especially if it it housed at Hogwarts. Voldie wouldn't have access to it. Unless he visits the school and does whatever he did to put his soul in it. For the idea to work, we need to know how they are created. Do they have to be with you when you kill? Or is it a charm/hex/spell that you put on something later?
