Proud Member of the Religious Left

I found an AWESOME site!

www.Turn-Left.com

Its propoganda for the religious left. It sells bumper stickers (and things of the like) that read quotes such as: "I support the separation of CHURCH and HATE," and "In the beginning, God created the BIG BANG"
and of course "You cannot be Pro Life and Pro Death Penalty"

I like :D

GOD WANTS SPIRITUAL FRUITS, NOT RELIGIOUS NUTS.

That has just made my day, man.

Yup... you'll appreciate it. I found this site on a mailing list I'm on. The mailing list is maintained by Jim Wallis, author of the book "God's Politics: Why the right gets it wrong and the left just doesn't get it." He describes how Christianity in north america, and particularly in the states, revolves around the far right in politics, and centres soely on issue of abortion and gay marriage. But he also says that the Left wont even raise the issue of religion in politics. He says that people on the "Christian left" need to speak out... and say that POVERTY and ENVIRONMENT are also (if not more important) "religious" issues.

To lefters like me, this seems like a no brainer! But people don't talk about it. I think people who are left wing christians should buy these bumper stickers... politicians need to be aware of our presence!!

When Jesus said "love your enemies"
he didn't mean 'Kill them"

I like that site. It's interesting and some of the stuff is really cool!
The only series I don't like are the "It's a Girl!" ones. No offense to girls, but think of the context of the time. If Jesus had been a girl do you think he would have been allowed to preach inside of synygogs? He was born into a man's world, if he was a girl walking around claiming to be the saviour and the direct child of God on earth, she would have been killed the first time she opened her mouth and would have had very little following.

The rest of that site rocks. Its probably more radical in the south though than it is here. With all the death penalty slogans and what not

I didn't see the "its a girl" ones... I'll have to check that out. But I agree with what you're saying about it... wouldn't have worked out.
