I've read a lot of opinions on the book from people on livejournal (I did a little browsing - mostly because I wanted to see the h/hr shippers reaction to the events...cough cough), and surprisingly a LOT of people seemed severly disappointed. I thought it was the best in the series so far, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that way. someone even made a community called hbp_wtf, haha. oh...people.

I was disappointed because I thought we were supposed to learn something huge about Lily Potter. I never found anything though.

Oh people, indeed. I went to harryhermione and saw that someone needed a heavy dose of H/Hr fanfic. How I chuckled at that. *snickers*

I think that HBP was a buffer for Book 7 because like PoA, there wasn't any interaction between Voldemort and Harry. It's a catharsis of sorts after 2 books of action and you obtain more history about characters, especially Voldemort, which I thought was wonderful. And I got to see our favorite characters live relatively normal lives and act like the teenagers they are. Aren't hormones wonderful?

Oh, I think the huge thing about Lily Potter was that she could've been sorted into Slytherin, like Harry. That's the best I could come up with, anyway.
