Dance is an art, it asks for beauty. I think for me perfection is something we can strive towards, but not something that can be obtained. It is impossible to compare dancers or dances because opinion is subjective. What is commonly applauded as amazing doesn't necessarily equate it is good - which is relative - it just means that a lot of people like it.
It is okay to be competitive, but understand why you are being competitive. (in my opinion) at the end of the day medals don't mean anything if you have put your heart and soul into it.
mmm true.. it's strange though. as in it's not like it's fixation on being better. heart n soul still 100% there. except that there's this strong need to shine too. dat u feel a little sian when u're placed at the side or when u feel like people aren't noticing u. it's v stupid. n it gets in the way. need to squish it.
hahas yup... it's kinda hard to isolate that feeling though. n it creates tension n sours feelings between dancers sometimes. hahas can i blame it on male ego? xD
i think you're a great dancer, one of the best i've ever seen. I'M SERIOUS. and your choreography is imba too. i'm not saying this just to make you feel better or anything, but that's my honest opinion. :) i know a lot of other people who say that you're quite good too. (and these are people who rarely dish out praises for anyone. SO BE HONOURED. XD)
sometimes i worry about that too, like how far dance is actually gonna carry me, whether i'm actually gonna have anything to do with dance in my life in the future, i.e. when i'm older and have a job. cuz if i end up doing something that has nothing to do with dance, i think there'll be something real significant missing in my life. >but for now, i'm just going to enjoy the experience, enjoy the company i have, and the time i have with the good friends that i've made. i'm going to make sure that i'll have no regrets regarding dance in my life when i look back at my life in MAD. :) i guess that's the best thing i can do: keep working to improve myself, cuz i think i still
