So I'm caught up on
Batman: The Brave and the Bold and I have to confess I like it. It's a light-hearted kids show, with obvious throwbacks to
the old Adam West show* and
Super Friends, but there's nothing wrong with that. Goofy is good too sometimes, even if I am a fan of the Dark Knight side of things in my comics. And man, Z. is now a big
Blue Beetle fan, which is amusingly groovy. (She loves the show.) Here's another endorsement by
4thletter!.
I have also recently been enjoying
The Spectacular Spider-Man. It's a nice simple new version of the Spider-man story, influenced by
The Batman's anime-ish look. But the stories are concise and well done, with decent characterization and compact plots. There's a running plot, but it's not especially necessary. And I'm a big fan of the Spidey villains, and like what they're doing with them. And, oh, the fight scenes. Spidey actually fights like Spidey in the comics, and it looks fantastic. Recommended.
