I can't start my assay right now because of stuff so I'm reading the news.

You all already know I'm sick and tired of women's rights and health being used as a political leveraging tool. We're 50% of the population, not a special interest group. Here a columnist with HuffPo calls out the President for not "manning up" when it comes to women's health

I haven't read the Parenting articles in depth, but I have two comments that may or may not change after reading them in more detail

A LOT of marriages have the problem of unequal distribution of what I call the shit work. That's what the rant is about. Asking, begging and pleading for your partner to help you just to find them playing on the computer doesn't help the problem, it magnifies it. And that's where the anger in part 2 of the article comes from

Re: nursing. I don't object to the child still drinking breast milk. It's more that, if he's old enough to ask for it, especially in writing, it should probably be pumped.

My 11 month old can ask for milk. I am not sure what the significance of verbalization is but I was just pointing out that its not abnormal for a child to still need or want to nurse well into toddlerhood and that it is our culture that needs to change, not the woman making her relatives uncomfortable. And fwiw, there are a whole lot of reasons why pumping may be impractical or impossible. I could not pump enough to satisfy my sons daily needs; my body just doesnt respond as well to the pump.
