I don't like to let water run. If I see or hear a dripping sink, I'll go out of my way to turn it off. I use a quick splash of water on my toothbrush in the morning and turn off the water between rinsing. Install a new faucet, they are inexpensive and it is easier than repairing an old worn one. Just find the shut-off valves under the sink, crank them off while you have the faucet running, the water should stop running, then you can remove and replace the faucet. Replace the supply lines at the same time, just a few more dollars, and helps to provide a good installation.
