I can never tell if my poems are good. I guess it's all in the readers perspective. When I was in college in English class we read some classic stuff that I thought was horrible but I guess the rest of the world thought it was great.
Is that a how do you gage a poem, or a rhetorical question?
I am right with you regarding the English class stuff .. I was one of those that were sitting there trying to work out what the rest of the world saw in the stuff I was reading!
I'm not so good in poetry, but often write music (the perils of a classical music training), and often wish I had the inspiration to put words to music. Once had a partner who did words and not music, so for a while we were a great team!
Ahhh, now there's a trip back down memory lane - will save that for another time! hehe
yeah most of my english classes were a blur. I have vauge memories of my desk chair, it's wood grain pattern pressed into my check as I snore softly...
