Art for Dean/Cas BB

Nov 10, 2012 17:23

I am a bad puppy for not getting more done. I pinch-hitted a lovely story for the Dean/Cas BB (link to come when it's posted), and then nearly fell through. Sorry! But here are three sketches from different scenes of the story, wish I'd had time to do more cause there were so many scenes that leapt into my head. Alas, I am a terrible, terrible procrastinator.

When he gets to the altar, Sam and Dean are standing over Lilith and Ruby’s dead bodies. The blood seal on the ground is broken by a handprint painted in the righteous man’s blood. Dean’s palm is coated crimson, seeping through the heavy fabric of Sam’s jacket. They’re grasping each other, laughing, shoulders sagged with relief. It’s an image that Castiel wants to remember, and so he imprints it in his mind.

“Alright then. No answers on the mysterious monster,” she says to herself, though it’s pointed at Castiel. She prods the fire with a stick. “So, what’s your story then?”

Castiel picks up a stick and moves around the embers, unsure of how he should answer. Truth? Would the truth be okay?

“I… had to leave someone,” he carefully chooses his words, “I had to leave behind two very special people. Their lives were ruined because of my family, and I was just a reminder of what could have happened. It was for the best.”

“Ain’t he adorable,” Dean quips, and he snuffs a laugh to himself.
