It was just supposed to be a normal date night for them. They were taking a nice walk in the woods. They both enjoyed the quiet the woods offered. They didn’t need a lot of talking between them. The last thing Jasper expected to run into was Jane.
Jacob collapsed, screaming in pain. Jasper desperately tried to talk to him, to get Jacob to tell him what was wrong. Then he saw her. Her blood red eyes mocked him as Jacob continued to writhe in pain on the ground. Before he could even think Jasper attacked Jane. She quickly knocked him to the ground but it was enough to break Jane’s hold on Jacob’s mind. He didn’t care what would happen to him or the consequences would be for attacking a Volturi member; he just wanted to get Jane away from Jacob.
Jane laughed at him and his “pathetic” attempts to attack her. She gave Jasper a message to give Edward and Bella. Bella had better be changed soon or Volturi would start hurting the ones closest to them. Jasper turned his attention back to Jacob as he screamed in pain again, when he turned back to face Jane she was gone.
Jasper rushed to Jacob’s side, checking him over to make sure he wasn’t otherwise hurt. He used his gifts to try and ease some of the lingering pain. When Jacob finally opened his eyes Jasper could have cried. The chocolate eyes he loved so much had looks of concern and confusion in them. Jasper kissed him on the forehead.
“Who what that?”
“Jane. She’s a member of Volturi.”
Jasper helped Jacob of the ground, spouting borages of apologizes until Jacob rolled his eyes and kissed him. Jasper made a promise right then and there that he would protect Jacob from everything and anything, and next time Jane wouldn’t get away if she caused Jacob any pain.

Jacob loved his boyfriend, but he was going to hurt him. Ever since their run in with Jane, Jasper had very protective of Jacob. He constantly had to know where Jacob was and who he was with. Jacob understood why Jasper was this way. He remembered the pain she inflicted on his mind, but he couldn’t let Jasper be like this. This had to stop or Jasper was going to do something stupid.
One day he forgot his cell phone in his car. It was a gorgeous day out and he went to La Push with a few younger members of the tribe. Jasper had sent him numerous texts and calls that went unanswered. When Jacob made his way back to the car his father was calling him. He told Jacob to get home now because Jasper was over there in what could mildly be described as a fit of pure panic. During the drive he scrolled and saw all the phone calls and texts, his heart falling further and further into his stomach.
As soon as he pulled into the driveway Jasper was on his side of the car practically pulling him out. Jasper was actually shaking and Jacob’s heart broke as he wrapped his arms tightly around his vampire, trying to soothe him. Jasper clutched at his shirt, trying to burry himself in Jacob’s warmth.
It was Jacob’s father that came up with an idea. Until the situation with Jane was dealt with Jasper was welcome to stay at the Black residence. Despite what he might have said when they started dating, Billy appreciated how much the vampire was willing to do for his son.
That seemed to work and Jasper started to calm down. When Jasper pinned Jacob to his car with a deep kiss, Billy decided it was time to go back into the house.
