last night I went with Maggie and her sister to this place called Twins jazz lounge. It was in NW and was really cool. It was what I thinka jazz club shoud be, small hole inthe wall kinda place, dark but people still wear sunglasses because theya re jsut too cool. Well, I did play a little tenor in college and have had a working soprano sax for a while. But i have a long way to go playing sax. I'm thinking lessons every two weeks and maybe start hitting more jams.

I expect the recording will be very painful to listen to. I expect the worst will be where the harp guy and I were playing fills at the same time.

If your number is on the CD, I'll get you a copy.

Speaking of equipment, have you tried delta frost harps? a lot of people don't like them because they sound too reverby -- but I figure if I can't sound good, at least I can sound a little different. So I have a couple.

Definitely get a little pig nose amp and you own mic. A lot of harp players won't let you borrow a mic because they don't want to be inhaling your slobber.

By the way, if you are curious about the harp player, check out his day jobWere you there long enough to see Anthony take his one turn at drums? Anthony set up the gig and worked the door. He's another FCC type, has a PHD in econometrics and as a ( ... )

if I had any idea who he was I would have had some serious things to say to him about censorship and some things I didnt think was fair. Good thing I didnt. are we ok with hanging around with rupublican politcal appointees? In either case it was fun and I would love to hear what I sound like.

He is a democratic commissioner (we have two from the minority party and three from the majority.) he was the one who said that "shit" is appropriate language for a blues documentary. Dana is the (presumed) republican. You only watched the hands, right?

yeah the hands were the only interesting part, the rest was just fluff ina pink dress. If he said we can say shit on tv then he is cool enough for me.
