That's so funny, because this story depressed me when I wrote it. There's this horrible weight of the apocalypse bearing down on them, and Cas is so certain he's going to die.

I'm glad you found it peaceful, though.

((hugs))

I know that, but I think it must be nice to be able to face the end with calmness and strenght and not have a panic attack or something....

That's probably true. I hadn't thought about it that way. Plus, it must be nice knowing you'll go down fighting for something you believe in.

Even though this is kind of bittersweet, I admire Cas's devotion and love for Dean. He's made his choice and he's sticking by it to the end.

//nods// I like that about Cas, too. He's very loyal. Isn't it Raphael who actually says to him "you used to be so loyal?"

all he has is himself, and Cas's life is a gift Dean will refuse.

Cas is certain he'll give it just the same.

What a perfect summation - of Cas and Dean, yes, but of all of them, really.

Thank you! They're all sort of self-sacrificing, aren't they?

I'd say it's genetic, but where would that leave Cas...

This was lovely.

There's a heavy feeling to it and such a realistic look at what love causes humans to do.

There's a layer of complexity and beauty while being simplistic.

Hell, I don't even know what I'm trying to say right now, but please know that I loved it.

Thank you! I'm thrilled you liked it.

It felt heavy to me too when I was writing it.

Dude, you seem to have a talent for defining a story with the little things. Here, again, Sam's brief appearance says so much. This was sad in a peaceful sort of way. You are one of my favorite authors... and I don't say that lightly!

Thank you! I'm incredibly flattered to hear that.

It is the little things that make a story work, I think.
