So what a week at school so far. I missed Monday, but I guess it was a doozy, a freshman died crossing the street over the weekend, so everyone was devastated. The principal laid off six positions. So yesterday we had a faculty meeting and people were CRYING and YELLING at our principal. One guy who got laid off went right to his classes and

You have my sympathy. Unfortunately, I know what that feels like. We're going through a similar thing here ... we're waiting for the town to vote on an override. 45 teachers' jobs are at stake. So we're all pretty strung out.

And sadly, I know what it's like to lose a student, too - one of my chorus kids was hit by a car last summer. But I've never had to deal with both of those issues at the same time. I'm really sorry.
