thoughts on Canzine and fat phobia

yesterday at the gladstone for Canzine, i had these incredible revelations about how i feel there every year. The tables are always so close together which creates the space for only certain bodies to pass through freely. I had so much trouble walking up and down the rows and im not even that fat. it made me incredibly angry and i kept making loud

hey dude, i hear you. I must have rubbed up against a hundred people I had no interest in rubbing against. Because the mag comes out two or three times a year, and it was supposed to run in the last issue but got bumped or forgotten about, that's why the dated. I suggested re-writing, but I'm not sure how that didn't happen. Probably I forgot and/or didn't feel like putting any more work into an article that wasn't go to pay me anything. But it's exciting that it seems dated already, cause it wasn't all that long ago, and it means things are moving fast for the FFM.

Great post. I was selling @ Canzine this year, and when I was arranging for the table I asked pointed for a space where I could sell comfortably. I pointed out that last year there was an entire section of the show I simply could not squeeze into. I couldn't imagine having to try fit in there and sell.

i havent tabled at canzine in about four yrs because i feel so uncomfortable there for the same reason...

I'm rather thin but also quite tall; last year I nearly killed someone with my elbow just trying to turn around.

On the whole, I think this year was a lot less busy than last year (at least when I was there around 5-6pm) so it was a bit easier to get around. My friends and I were a little frustated all the same, I really wish they would get a bigger venue. Some place where I don't have to touch people quite so much (germ machines!!)
