Let there be LED --

I think this is so cool. Considering that the overhead light in our bedroom is burnt out (has been for days, will be for a few more), I may be biased in my appreciation of alternative lighting sources ( Read more... )

I'm not sure but I don't think Doug will dig the alternative lighting source. I don't see him as a pink kind of guy. I agree with you on the cohabitation statement. I want stickers and posters all over the walls, she wants biege paint.

Are you guys planning on moving?

Ceiling-to-floor posters would be chill.
Definitely not the thing to get into while renting though.

I bet Doug would be okay with the LED-approach to lighting if it were another color. Neither of us are crazy about pink to begin with. Awhile ago, I read an article on LEDs that give off a hue closer to that of natural daytime light, which would be ideal. Too bad it's all ridiculously expensive.

When he's done with WSU, we plan on moving -- New Hampshire, Boston, Seattle, Idaho, and Texas are all possibilities. I'm lobbying hard for Austin, TX.

I pushed hard for Sioux Falls because the hardcore scene here is pretty big, plus I know the area but so far Jenny does not really like it at all.

We need to come visit you two soon -- probably after I get back from SXSW or something. I'd like to check out SF's clubs, too, if we can swing a whole weekend away from Y-no-na. Keep me posted on shows.

You live in a coffin?

Also, Telepathic Butterflies is a great name, is it "trip-hop"?

I don't live in a coffin. OR DO I?
Ok, I don't.

You can thank Vonnegut for that name.
TTB are pop rock in the same vein as The Beatles' Day Tripper or Paperback Writer. Real boomy bass lines, jangly-sunny guitar riffs...and with song names like "Mr. Laughabee's Circus" or "Sunshine Radio", it's hard to miss that they're 60s pop heads. They're good to listen to if you don't want to analyze what you're hearing; otherwise, there are handfuls of bands right now doing what they do better.
