Awesome! I hope you like what you hear. :D

I'll work on putting together the dream setlist. I need to get it trimmed a little bit.

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!! I have dl'd the essential songs and am very much looking forward to listening to them.

The music in the video seems...is heady the right word? In the sense of being sort of druggy and sort of intellectual and sort of, IDK, heady. OK, word fail. This is definitely not my usual thing, but you SOLD me sold me sold me.

Also, identical twins + brothers + Matt - heeeeeeee...that seems like adorable-ness and awesome-ness in the making. Also, what was the instrument they were playing? It looked like an accordion and a piano had a concertina baby.

Any more of this, and Imma be a hipster like PJ right quick. Or not. I got to Anne Taylor Loft (or...the ATL) way too much.

In conclusion, you rock! Would you like a tutorial in old-ass blues music? Or in terrible terrible punk music? Or in, er, something else? Or simply an invitation to use my couch as a non-sketchy motel?

ETA: I am listening to "Slow Show," and, lo, it is AWESOME! Thank you thank you thank you!

I like 'heady'. It's a good word. (I'm also drawn to you using 'intellectual'; it's definitely one of the ways I characterize their music, but I didn't use it here at the risk of sounding both earnest AND pretentious. Even though I am. :D)

So, the guy playing that ~thing~ is actually Padma Newsome, and that is basically a harmonium. It's kinda awesome (like Padma).

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Anne Taylor Loft is now officially synonymous with ATL in my head.

In conclusion, you rock! No, you do! No need for anything in return. I just wanted ( ... )

It is intellectual music. I mean, it's wordy and expressive and I like it. I think there's visceral music and music that's both (for me, really really good music would be both...and like, Warren Zevon and I don't know who else), but they're definitely more intellectual...and yeah, it gets a little earnest, but that's OK, *g*.

What flavor old school punk? *pulls up a chair* I am slowly rebuilding my music library after epic iPod fail of '09. I &hearts the Ramones and (to a lesser extent) the Sex Pistols, the NY Dolls, etc. etc.

&hearts you!

Predominantly the English punks, like Sex Pistols, Clash (of course) and Raincoats. Add in some Iggy & The Stooges and NY Dolls and I get all weirdly nostalgic.

Did you ever watch SLC Punk?

Suffice it to say, The National means something to me. And if you end up liking them, they will probably mean something completely different to you. And that's the way it should be.

This entry is GLORIOUS.

This is awesome, thank you. Up until now, I only had songs from Boxer--I don't know why.

Boxer is an awesome place to start, though. My love for it cannot be textually rendered. (I've tried. It ends up with a giant keysmash and lots of babbling. Much like now...) Glad to help expand the horizons!

The other day my radio station played Bloodbuzz Ohio as their "check this out tune" and I thought of you! :D

You did a great job on the primer, very well thought out. I'm totally DLing the essential songs. Thanks!

Haha, that's AWESOME! And bravo to your radio station. The question is, of course, did you like the song?

Thanks! Enjoy listening. :)
