I've written on other occasions about my tendency to read the fine print/tax codes/insurance rules/etc or "do the math" on an unusual bill. My tendency to believe that large companies are out to yank me around (because "Who reads the rules, anyway?" and "Who adds up charges to make sure they make sense?") accounts for part of this. In my experience, "Luxury Utilities" tend to get turned off days...and sometimes months...after the service has ended. You're probably fine. And thanks for making me feel less alone. (I've had to fight about two "basic utilities" and one "luxury utility" here...$500 in refunds from one, $300 from another, and we learned "budget billing" was a total misnomer on the third. That transfer is currently happening, and I'm assuming I'll spend a few more hours on the phone with the company that called me a "stupid b*tch"
