Nigel watched the street light flash by on the way back to the Sanctuary. The drive back to the Sanctuary was far less exciting as the drive out of the city had been, but not less stressful. Morguase's fears of the Cabal coming after she and Geoffrey had set him on edge and he wouldn't relax until they were safely back inside the Sanctuary

Morgause had kept her eyes trained on the window for the entire journey so far, only pulling them away to check that Geoffrey was still asleep, his hand now clutching at his teddy.

She looked for any telling sign in the envirnment, anything that may follow them.

"I'm not mad," she answered flatly.

"You're also not happy," he pointed out, shifting in his seat, leaning forward to take some of the pressure off his back. It still stung, but not like it had.

"How can I be happy knowing that the Cabal are here?" she asked him.

He nodded. "I'm sorry, love. I didn't think--I just wanted you to meet the people I came from," he said quietly, grip tight on the steering wheel as he drove, eyes on the road.
