I remember very well. It was grunge when I was growing up, and my mom used to check my arms for track marks because I listed to Nirvana...
It's a fucking cycle, but I think that fans and kids in general are less dumb than these people think they are.

I'm convinced that's always been the case. It's easier to blame terrible things on something you don't understand than it is to realize the problem and the solution is you.

"Make friends with the new kid. Talk to the kid in black sitting at lunch by themselves. That person who is different from you knows many amazing, wonderful things that you don't and vice versa. Don't make fun. Teach them and hopefully learn from them.

Amen.
Seriously

Okay, That is Bull.
Anyone who feels compelled to blame another's actions on the music they listen to, has issues.

I agree with you in saying "Kids cutting, committing sucide, and killing each other is a problem, but not one caused by the music. It's caused because we aren't taught compassion and respect. We aren't taught to embrace and celebrate our differences."

There are definitely some major problems in our society but it certainly isn't one caused by the music- the music simply expresses our sentiments... if that makes sense...People try so hard to find someone or something to blame, as long as it isn't themselves- heaven forbid they're not perfect...

[p.s.- sorry i know this is a way belated post but you piqued my curiosity, i had to reply...I hate that history repeats itself..whatever happened to learning from our mistakes?]
