niiiice. actually, it's funny, becauase dad figured out verizon dsl is cheaper than charter cable, so we're switching too and I'm supposed to do the same thing (albeit hopefully sans arm bruise). we don't have the box yet, though, and the service hasn't been activated yet, but in theory that'll all happen before I have to leave. I can see it now...sunday afternoon..."I have to pack my plane leaves at 4!"..."no, go install DSL"... :)

Tell him "they have step by step instructions. You can do it. If it doesn't work the first time, do the exact same thing again."

I'm serious about that last part, that's what it took to get our router to work.
