I've never had any problems with it. WOW! has been ranked highest by J.D. Powers and Associates for the past two years in their Residential Cable/Satellite Satisfaction Study and was the highest ranked cable company in the 2004 study. Fight the Comcast monopoly! Jeez, I didn't think that WOW was so hard up for business that they would stoop to surfing LiveJournals. That's one small mock for Jon, one giant mock for WOW-kind.
Be careful about this. If you sign a contract, poor service will not get you out of it. Contracts always say that they do not guarantee ANY internet service. What you pay the monthly fee for is the capability to have service.
I've had SBC/AT&T DSL since I was a second year in med school. It's been great. I don't notice a performance difference when using DSL vs. cable, though I have always used a wireless router, which may make a difference.
We pay something like $25/month for DSL and (very) basic phone. The phone is practically free. I don't even know the number, as we never have a receiver plugged in.
Becky had comcast in East Lansing, and it sucked balls hardcore. My DSL was ALWAYS much faster by comparison. Comcast servers are always overloaded, and they never add more. They will penetrate your posterior like a hot knife through butter.
My parents have WOW, and they have reported no problems. Don't know how much it costs. Again, I saw no performance difference between their hard-wired cable modem and my wireless DSL.
My parents have WOW I believe, but prefer the SBC they once had and I think are switching back too, but that tells me all of nothing. As to the DSL v. Cale argument, cable is great for one system, but for multiple you want DSL from my understanding, which I belive means nothing to Jon. I can vouce for Comcast being less than Comcastic, having wonky service and an inability to pay attention to or process little things like having paid your bill or ended your service contract, but whatever.
