Nooses give; gas smells awful; you might as well live

How can you tell you are getting on in years? When all your piece of news read like symptoms. My grandmother was right [as usual] when she said that if you have your health, you make a far more interesting person. [The old lady had a low tolerance for her friends' conversations that consisted of a long list of ailments and little else.]

Hugs you right back!

Are you by any chance going to the Shakespeare festival in Stratford-upon-Avon? I'd kill for a good play.

How goes the book?!

I want to know!

Hi Chen! [hugs]

I'm going to London in October (weather permitting), but since I only have a few days off, I'll have to miss Stratford-upon-Avon. My plan is to see my favourite actor Alex Jennings in Ben Jonson's play The Alchemist at the National Theatre, and Tom Stoppard's new play Rock and Roll. :-)

I've just done a final edit of the book, and now I have to finish the synopsis and query letter and start sending it out.

How are you? I send so many good thoughts your way.

As somebody creative, you'll understand how terrifying it was when I was faced with the possibility of losing my tools. I was pretty freaked out.
The good thing... Priorities become crystal clear really fast.
I was lucky - after all the freaking I got away with most of my eyesight and a pair of heavy black frames that work for me.

How are you guys doing? Have you been working on something new?

Have you been globetrotting? As you know, I'm pretty much stuck here until the end of the year [or so I'm told] - I miss the travel.

Where is here?

I wanted to send postcards from Italy (a month's trotting in May) and France (briefly on the boat before retreating in the face of the enemy hot weather.) I missed the whole of your trauma/drama but am glad you're on the mend - or at least functioning on much reduced battery power. The globe trotting must wait. Patience Grasshopper - all will be well.

I bet the specs make you look like a Buddy Holly, not geeky at all but cool and way ahead of his time.

The young'un has been loving the new Doctor and the new season. All she wants now is her own T.A.R.D.I.S. and to meet the Doctor.

*sigh*

Hope you are all doing well - so sorry about the match. As you are aware, I know exactly how you feel in England.

I actually thought about you [and the wife] when I went to see an experimental interactive play where birds were the characters. It was a drama about how the choices we make are in reality guided by ads on television and how that ultimately will lead to the demise of said birds.

Thanks for the message - it's been rough, but I was lucky in that it was mostly fixable and I kept most of my eyesight.
