It's quite late here. Around three in the morning, to be precise. I should be asleep, but am not and have no plans of going to bed any time soon. In the golden days, I'd read a book. I still have various volumes piled on a desk by my bed for that purpose. They are books of short stories, or of non-fiction full of funny, amusing and/or astonishing

Interesting stack of books you have there - although *poisioners I have known?* A tad creepy! But I can't talk. My current collection of library books takes *eclectic* to new levels of weird.
Oh, and Pepys - did you know there's a LJ community devoted to his diary? Daily entries correspond to the dates he originally wrote each one. A clever idea, and probably makes the diary accessible for people who might not otherwise want to read the whole thing in one go. Works nicely for diaries, although not for books except for Dracula which is, of course, also organized by the dates of letters, journal entries, etc.
