It's quite late here. Around three in the morning, to be precise. I should be asleep, but am not and have no plans of going to bed any time soon. In the golden days, I'd read a book. I still have various volumes piled on a desk by my bed for that purpose. They are books of short stories, or of non-fiction full of funny, amusing and/or astonishing ( Read more... )

Thank you, L. I should really do it more often - it's a question of getting back into the habit of it.

It is temperate and agreeable today; even more so for seeing you posting again, despite the insomnia.

How are things on your side of the pond? I know MWNN is in Dublin - so are you up to no good? A bit, I hope.

I'm packing to go to DiscWorld Con. So that's all to the very, very good. Wish you could be there. Maybe 2008?

One day, and that's a promise, we will be sitting down together and I'll ask you - "Can you believe it?"

Your icon is quite lovely and it's always lovely to see you.

I have to admit - this Doctor isn't as bad as that.

Chennie! Darlin', so glad to see you back again. Missed you a lot. ;)

Interesting stack of books you have there - although *poisioners I have known?* A tad creepy! But I can't talk. My current collection of library books takes *eclectic* to new levels of weird.

Oh, and Pepys - did you know there's a LJ community devoted to his diary? Daily entries correspond to the dates he originally wrote each one. A clever idea, and probably makes the diary accessible for people who might not otherwise want to read the whole thing in one go. Works nicely for diaries, although not for books except for Dracula which is, of course, also organized by the dates of letters, journal entries, etc.

(((big huge hugs))) and you have a good Monday, too!

I'm trying to do it more often. It's so odd how unplugged I've become. I used to freak if I was over 100 meters from a modem. 2006 was a very odd cookie - I'm counting on 2007 to blow me away - in a wonderful, eventful, absurdly fantastic way.
