CliffRose BaCC: Fall year 1 Shingler
I do a great deal for Josephine and I promised her I would always do whatever she needed, no exceptions. Never did I dream she would ask me to come to Mars with her! Packing up my life, my (not so) promising art career, leaving my friends, my (not) girlfriend, I did it all because she asked and i don't regret it. The adjustment has been huge. I've had to learn to garden, haul and treat water, and live with two strangers. this first season is going to be tough, maybe after I've been hungry and cold for a while will it hit me that this is for life and there is no turning back... -Matthew 1.1
There is not much to do in the first few days on their own so Jerry and Cherrie use the down time to read. Jerry is studying the manuals and specs provided by the Project while Cherrie looks up recipes.
Josephine doesn't mean to 'spy' per se, but it has always been hard for her to intereact with other people so people watching because an everyday occurance. To her, watching her nieghbors garden through the telescope was jsut the same.
Oooh man, i don't think i was meant to see that!
Though she sometimes caught glimpses of things from the Dominion house she didn't need or want to see.
The first few days on Mars were lonely for Matthew, his siter was busy studying the night sky and being all around awkard near people while he was left alone with his painting. Project CliffRose had been kind enough to give him a task while on the planet; study local flora (since water ahd been brought back to the planet, life seemed to have followed close at hand) and they even sent him equipment to arrage the flowers and have them shipped back to Earth. He contemplated opening a small business out of this and selling rare flowers to Earthlings and settlers alike.
Josephine: *YAWN*
Rueben: Uhh??
Josephine: Sorry, that was rude but you see, I was awake all night studying the stars. They're all in differetn places in the sky now that I'm here it's like learning it all over again!
Rueben: Oh that's cool! I wonder i-
Josephine: My apologise but I have to go to bed.
And with that she left.
Jerry and Cherrie bond over games of football.
Cherrie had designated herself the household chef but things didn't always work out so smoothly.
Again i really should have taken the hint but damn i am slow
I have to be more careful with the grill next time. I mastered an electric stove, i can manage fire!
Jerry: FUCK!
Bunny: Omg what's going on?!?
Oh Tarina, when will you get rid of that overly flamable grill? Not now.
Matthews first creation is a Martian grown Earth flower; a vase of Cliff Roses.
They're daisies I know. Shuddup
It was only a few weeks since they're arrival that Tasia Hanger came baning at the door one morning, no one knew why she was so angry until she stormed up to Josephine.
Tasia: Keep your nose out of my business you little freak!
Josephine: Wha-? I don't kno-
Tasia: You know damn well what I'm talking about Miss. Shingler. If I catch you even looking at my house again i'm going to break your nose. Stalker.
Josephine: Stop it! If you touch me my brother will return the favor and you may be bigger than me but he's much stronger than you so think about that next time you threaten me!
Tasia: You're crazy.
Josephine never meant any harm, she didn't think it weird that she 'people watched' when she should be stargazing. She also didn't like being threatened when she did nothing wrong and Matt had always told her to stand up for herself.
Nothing could keep Josephine from her telescope.
And the dedication pays off when she is able to send a report through Tasia and her private communication line (as much as they both hate it) that she'd discovered a new planet resting toward the end of the solar system. NASA was kind enough to send her thanks and an extra $500 worth of shipment on the next shuttle but she's sure they took credit for the discovery themselves back on Earth.
Alone time was becoming somethign MAtthew was too used to. On Earth he had his friends and his girlfriend (read: fuck buddy) but here there was only his sister, Jerry (whom he wasn't very fond of), and Cherrie (whom he'd like to spend much more time with). To console himself he put himself in charge of the garden. Each member of their house ha their own projects and this was one of his. The smell of dirt and the sway of the plants made him feel less alone.
Dinners were the only time the group came together and talked as housemates and friends.
Jerry: I'm just going to put this out there, Cherrie, you have a gorgeous ass.
Cherrie *gigglesnort*
Josephine: Jerald! I can't believe you would say such a thing!
Jerry: What? It's a compliment! Besides I'm sure Matt thinks so too. Right Matt?
Matthew: *tries to avoid eye contact*
Cherrie: Oh you've embarassed him! It's okay Matt, I'm not offended.
As much at Matthew wanted to join in on the fun he simply wasn't bold enough to tell Cherrie that he thought she was gorgeous. Both Jerry and Cherrie were outspoken and striaght forward with their sexuality, the opposite of himself. It wasn't as if he'd never had sex, there were a string of women on Earth who could testify otherwise, he was just more private about it. Being thrown into a house with Cherrie, who seemed to have a severe dislike of clothing, and Jerry, who always had something to say about her various states of undress, was almost too much for Matt.
When not joking around with Cherrie Jerry studies. He was an excellent mechanic and figuring out how to get an electrical grid up and running wasn't much of a challenege for him, it was the plumbing that got him scratching his head. somehow he had to set up a pump and fliter system to bring water from the resovuir to each hom and each faucet, then out again to be cleaned an recycled. Many of his nights were spent struggling to comprehend his books in the dark.
Oh what is this? Fire number 5ish? You surely got rid of the grills this time right? No.
Cherrie: Oh! Jer' you scared me!
Jerry: I have been in that chair for 4 hours Cherrie. What are you so into you didn't notice me? Porn or something?
Cherrie: NO!
Jerry: IT IS!
Four people and one bathroom made it difficult to find time to bathe so when she got a bath Cherrie cherished each moment. She adored her new roommates but she liked her alone time; it was the only time she could whisper in her language and remember what her fathers face looked like. The past haunted her everyday like a shadow but it was a shadow that brought comfort as well as shame. She wanted to run away, not forget.
But in the quickly cooling water of her bath it was easy for memories of lounging naked on the beach to turn into fantasies of lounging naked in Matthews bed. Every woman has needs and Matthew was just so adorably shy she couldn't help but want him.
It wasn't long before she invited herself to help Matthew with the garden.
Matthew: Does it bother you when Jer' talks about you the way he does?
Cherrie: When he talks about my body? No. It is just his way of complimenting me and making me laugh.
Matthew: Most girls I know would call him a pig.
Cherrie: I guess...but he respects my space and stops when I don't laugh so I don't see the harm in his words. Besides, all he ever tells me is I'm beautiful, it's nice to hear even from a guy like Jerry.

Matthew: Cherrie...?
Cherrie: Yes?
Matthew: You're beautiful.
Josephine: MATTHEW!
This fire spread so quickly! I didn't get many shots bc I literally thought someone would die and was panicing. It didn't get put out until HOURS later and YES! I got them a real stove arter this!
Eli: Hey Baby, it must be my lucky day!
Cherrie: It will be if you never call me 'Baby' again. If not, you won't live long enough to find out my actual name.
Eli: Oh.
Tasia: I TOLD you to stop looking at my house,and I know I saw your telescope pointed in my direction this morning!
Josephine: I didn't, I swear! I saw something out over the resovuir, i promise i wasn't looking at your house.
She had seen somehting over the water but hadn't gotten her scope focused in time to find out what it was...it almost looked someone swimming but must have been a shadow.
Luckily Tasia left without a fight because Matthew was in no position t defend his sister. No one else knew that he would lose bits of time, no one else knew that he would see strange people and hear a language he didn't regognize. He tried his hardest to hide these episodes behind a locked bedroom door. Whatever was happening it had started on Mars, whoever was contacting him they seemed to want him to know somehting extremely important. But what were they saying?
I really don't know why he's in aspiration failure.
Eli is the worst guest.
Cherrie: Hey there handsome.
Matthew: Me? Oh.. um
Cherrie: Hehe, you're so cute when you're shy.
Jerry: I'm shy too!
Matthew: Go away Jerry.
Cherrie: Yeah Jer', I want to be alone with Matt for a bit.
The smile she gave him made his heart jump....and other parts as well.
It's not like he needed convincing anyway. Jerry wasn't wrong, she had a gorgeous ass.
The longer he kissed her the more 'right' it felt. It had been so long since he'd held a woman against him he had almost forgotten what it was like and he never wanted it to end.
But end it did and with a smile and a wink Cherrie trotted off to find her new friend and confidant Josephine.
Cherrie: Your brother is so shy but once I got my arms around him he was grabbier than i thought! I like it!
Josephine: Cherrie, i don't want to hear that!
Cherrie: You guys are so cute!
Day 3
Matthew was working at hi flower table when he heard his name being called from down the hall; the accent was unmistakably Cherrie. Putting his work down he poked his head out of the doorway only to see Cherrie, in much less clothing than usual (which is such a small amount to begin with) smiling and heading into her own room. No thought was needed for Matt to decide to follow.
He wasn't used to women who took charge, who pushed him around, who weren't shy about wrapping their legs around him and demand 'MORE!'. He wasn't used to it, but he loved it.
Cherrie: So Matt and I kind of....had sex.
Josephine: Oh MY GOODNESS! As your friend I am excited for you but as his siter i'm disgusted...it's really confusing.
Jerry: Yeah, i'm just not here, and I'm totally not jealous or anything.
Cherrie: Literally no one is talking to you Jer'.
Jerry: I love you too Sweetheart.
There is so much to record. On a personal level my life has been amazing. Josephine has made a great friend, and so have I. I don't love her, in fact I barely know her but she is gorgeous and funny and the things she does to me just by smiling are un-real. One of the agreements i made when I signed on to the Project was that I would activley participate in "breeding", the idea terrified me at first (what if I didn't like any of the women or they didn't like me) but she is just perfect and I couldn't imagine not holding her while I slept. I get the feeling Cherrie and I will never be too close, she has secrets, i can tell, and now I do too. It must be the water, or the food, or both but the visions are getting more frequent. I see people, or they look like people, and they are trying to tell me something that seems important but i can't make out the words. It could jsut be lack of proper nutritien, but I still don't want anyone to know. They might think i'm crazy or something. -Matthew 1.1

It is 2 in the morning. i have been working on this since noon. I am dead tired so i'm sorry if the last journal entry wasn't as detailed as it could be. Notable things;
- So.Many.Fires. We're just going to have to have regular stoves and pretend it makes sense okay? Okay.
- Jerry is almost maxed with his mech skill so if i can get him BFF with Tasia once she reaches lvl 3 we get electricity and water!!
- Cherrie and Matt did this all on their own. On day ACR jsut decided they were going to have sex and I was so okay with it. They'd make cute babies but I don't know how serious about each other they would be.
- Eli was woken up on the 3rd day, I finally sent someone to talk to him and he just got up and left like he wasn't [passed out at my table for days.
- WE RAN OUT OF FOOD!!! It was a problem guys. We ran out of food 3 days before the end of the season and the harvest wasn't in yet...I had to cheat or they'd all starve to death. It was horrible! I blame the fires and the fact that so many group meals got wasted.
