Since my local scifi bookstore has estranged me (nothing serious, just a long serious of moves of changing in exactly the opposite of the way I find helpful), I haven't been the best about finding new fiction to read

Also he totally left a comment on naomikritzer's LJ recently! Mind-melting, since I'd just heard about him from the pose-off. (Naomi is the sister of a college friend of mine, and by weird coincidence our moms were colleagues. Also Naomi writes good fantasy books which you should read if you haven't. There, more fiction discovery!)

Oh hey also I've really liked NK Jemisin's work recently. And Nnedi Okorafor's Who Fears Death was AMAZING, though very dark -- but I hear she also writes YA (which I haven't read but which is well-regarded).

I'd recommend the James S. A. Corey but I loaned that to you already ;) I think I've also pushed the Dragon and the Coin series on you (written by half of the pseudonymous author pair Corey).
