I don't miss Paris so much, although I miss y'all, but I do sometimes have really vivid memories of it -- usually of the streets -- the little one next to my apartment building, outside politburo or o'kubi, the canal, the view out fran's window on a sunday night. Sometimes the feeling is so immediate that I get confused when I realize I'm in New York. It's a funny thing. I'm not sure what my photo situation is, but if I find any, I'll send them to you.

Oh-la-la, I know exactly what you mean. I had intense Paris nostalgia the other day. I yearned for the flow of the streets, the winding underground metro tunnels, the delicioius wines and cheeses, the balconies and intimate tables. Then I remembered the ass-grabbers. But I think when you open your heart to a place (or a person) a piece of you stays there. I get nostalgic for LA sometimes, too. I wonder if you will once you don't have the promise of imminent return. Unfortunately, we didn't take that many pictures together in Paris. But I do have many Paris photos that I could share.
I hope your dissertation writing is going well!

I miss Paris a million times every day. I have quite a bit of last-2-weeks in Paris pictures in my camera, I'll upload them as soon as I have my computer and internet access all in the same place.
