“I’m serious, Reid. I’m never letting you go again. You’re just going to have to deal with that.”
“So why did you?”
“What?”
Reid’s eyes had opened, but they were directed downward. “Why did you let me go?”
As much as that was about one of the most painful conversations I've read, I'm so glad they had it, to finally see a further glimpse of Reid's pain and Luke's stupidity in leaving. I still love the fact that you haven't rushed Reid's forgiveness, which is so true to his character. And as much as I'm annoyed with Luke for choosing Noah all those years ago, it was interesting to read of his reasons, his lack of self worth, which with all the crap he's put up in Oakdale I'm not at all surprised. (I'll return to my fangeek corner now...)
btw, the medical jargon is perfect - are you a med student or something, or are you getting your neurosurgeon friend to beta for you :D ???
So glad you were convinced - I have a (non-medical) biology background, but it took me an hour of internet research to figure out which type of brain tumor would be appropriate (and my worst nightmare would be for my neurosurgeon friend to find out what I'm doing) :D
Is it wrong to be glad that Luke has to work here? I mean he did jerk Reid around big time! I'm glad he persists and then finally Reid spills his guts. God, Reid waiting for him and Reid willing to let Noah have Luke (if it made Luke happy)- knife in the heart ! AHH! So powerfully strong and right.
All I can say is I hope now they will ask:
"Will you give me yourself? Will you come travel with me? Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?" (Love WW)
