Part 1~
After Kame had chosen his number or so he thought he did, the rest of the members inserted their hands one after another to pick a number in a lottery manner and kept it safely in their hands. After everyone had gotten one number, Jin reached his hand into the bag and took out the last piece of paper and set the bag down. “Okay, now let’s start reading out the numbers that everyone has gotten so that we can exchange the presents right away.”
“Starting from whom?” Ryo asked.
“Okay, how about this? We will start off with NEWS then we are going down the sequence, beginning from the eldest?” Koki insinuated.
“Okay, let’s add another fun point. Why don’t we do a cross one? Like one from NEWS, the one following after that will be one from KAT-TUN? All beginning from eldest, in sequence?” Yamapi winked knowingly at Jin.
Because through that sequence, Kame would definitely be the last one to get his gift. Yes! Yamapi knew that his plan was the greatest plan and he had to kiss himself for that. He’s just so smart.
“Okay, I will go first then.” Koyama said. He opened up his paper and said, “8. Whose?”
“Ah, that’s mine!” Junno called out excitedly. He got up and handed his present to Koyama. “You must see! It’s really a rare present!”
Everyone rolled their eyes at Junno’s reaction and continued, completely ignoring the poor happy man.
“Alright now, the first member from KAT-TUN, Nakamaru.” Ueda said.
“Yatta! I got number ‘3’.” Nakamaru almost shouted and started beatboxing.
“Shut up, Nakamaru. Kindly lower down your volume, will you?” Jin scolded. “It’s Massu’s. Go, go get it from him. I’m almost hundred percent sure that it will be related to food anyway. Probably it’s some chocolates.”
Nakamaru pouted and grabbed his present from Massu and muttered his thanks along something like “I hope it’s not chocolates.”
“Okay, I’m next.” Ryo said coolly. “I got number ‘2’. I remembered it was Ueda’s one right?”
“Bingo.” Ueda said smugly. “You’ve got it right. And be happy, because it’s an expensive gift.”
“Thanks then. I will treasure it.” Ryo replied stiffly.
“You better do. Who’s next anyway?”
“You are, Tat-su-ya-san.” Ryo said in a deadpan yet mocking voice.
“…” Ueda unfolded his slip of paper unwillingly and muttered lowly. “’10’.”
“Oppz.” Jin let out in a snickering voice.
“What?” Ueda asked annoyingly.
“It’s Ryo’s.” Jin revealed and pointed one finger at the pissed Ryo who sat there and handled out his present in an unhappy way like a child being asked to hand out his own favorite sweets for others to munch on.
“Thanks.” Ueda with his politeness running in his blood, still thanked him properly.
“Have a good look at the gift and keep it safely.” Ryo advised.
“Okay, now next will be… Pi.” Kame urged, steering away from the pair.
“Alright, it’s me… I have got...” Yamapi read, “number ‘7’.”
Jin immediately frowned and yelled out angrily. “Hell no! Kazu’s present is mine!”
Yamapi immediately retorted. “Hey! Don’t think of confiscating my present now okay! Bakanishi!”
“What? Kazu is mine! I don’t care!” Jin yelled childishly.
“I know! We know Kazu is yours! But his present is mine now!” Yamapi yelled back in an equally loud voice.
“HEY YOU!” Jin shouted lividly.
“JIN!” Kame yelled at the top of his lungs to catch his lover’s attention. “Jin! Just give Pi the present… it isn’t anything great… It’s just a simple gift. I can always buy you other things okay?”
Jin pouted and handed his boyfriend’s present out unwillingly, not bearing to part with it. Yamapi grabbed it and smirked. “I’ve got it!”
Jin narrowed his glaring eyes at his best friend and mumbled in an angry voice. “NEXT ONE.”
“Jin…” Kame cooed softly.
“What?” Jin turned to look at his lover defiantly and caused Kame to wince.
“You’re the next one.” Jin narrowed his eyes more and unfolded the paper then… groaned loudly. “WHAT THE HELL? Life’s totally unfair!”
“What happened?” Kame asked gently.
“I’ve got Pi’s one! Damn. Bad luck.” Jin groaned again and threw his paper away.
“Too bad, dude. Mine’s for you.” Yamapi sang in a smug manner and caused Jin to almost land a blow on his pretty face. “Enjoy it~”
“Whatever. Thanks.” Jin muttered through his gritted teeth.
“Okay, now next one from NEWS. Massu.” Kame quickly changed the topic again to avoid any more awkward scenes.
“I have got ‘5’.” Massu said softly.
Tegoshi immediately shouted, “Ah its Nakamaru’s!”
“Oh really? Yay! We are really exchanging gifts!” Massu cheered and pulled Tegoshi along with him to do a short dance in which no one paid attention to them except for Nakamaru who seemed to enjoy the lame dance a lot.
“Okay, next.” Ueda said again. “Koki, it’s your turn.”
Koki wasted no time in unfolding the paper and revealed the answer. “It’s ‘1’.”
“Oh! That’s mine!” Koyama raised both his hands in the air and then handed the present over to Koki.
“Thanks, dude. I will treasure it.” Koyama smiled at him.
“Okay, come on, move fast! I want to eat the cake soon~” Massu whined. “Shige is the next~”
“Hai, hai, hai! I know! I know!” Shige read out aloud. “It’s ‘4’.”
“AHH~ that’s mine!” Tegoshi jumped up and ran over to Shige, and then shoving his present into the latter’s hands and beamed brightly at him. “Open it, open it!”
“Tegoshi, later… We have to wait for the last one, okay?” Shige smiled at Tegoshi who first pouted then went wide eyes in realization.
‘That’s the fun.’ They smiled at each other knowingly. “NE?” They shouted in unison.
“Okay, now is the noisy Junno’s turn.” Koki tried to bully the always smiling man.
“Hey, I’m not noisy!” Junno grumbled while trying to figure out the number. “It’s… ‘6’ I think? Or ‘9’?”
“What? Don’t you even know how to read a number, Junno?” Jin roared furiously. He wanted this gift exchange to end quickly so that he could finally bring out his surprise for his Kame already.
“What? It’s true! How would I know whether it is a ‘6’ or ‘9’? See.” Junno almost cried in accusation and handled his slip of paper out frightfully.
“Whatever, just make it ‘6’ then.” Jin didn’t even take a second look at the number and just passed Shige’s present to Junno. “There, take it, it’s Shige’s. Thank him and we’re moving on already.” Jin said impatiently.
“Jin! Don’t be rude.” Kame chided lightly. “Why are you so impatient out of a sudden?”
“Because I…!” Then Jin halted immediately. Oppz. He nearly spilled out the surprised beans. “N-nothing.”
Kame raised a curious eyebrow. “What, Jin?”
“N-nothing. I’m just… I want the cake too.” Jin lied. He hoped Kame would believe him since he wasn’t good at telling lies, especially such lame lies.
“O-okay…” That seemed to work on Kame.
“Okay, now last member from NEWS. Tegoshi.”
“I have got a ‘9’ I supposed then~ since Taguchi-kun has got a ‘6’, so mine must be ‘9’.” Tegoshi chirped excitedly. Too excited in Jin’s view and he made a face internally.
“Okay, last of the night! Kazu, it’s you!”
“Wait! I haven’t got my present from Koki-kun!” Tegoshi stared at Jin in anger who just simply shrugged his shoulders uncaringly.
“Here dude, for you. Merry X’mas!” Koki handed his present over to Tegoshi who said “thanks”.
“Alright now, really is the last of the night, Kame-chan!” Yamapi started the cheer and everyone followed at the same time as Jin got his present ready.
“Erm… I got… ‘12’. The last number I supposed.” Kame said softly without suspecting anything.
“Oh! Kazu! You have got my gift, such a coincidence! There, it’s this one.” Jin immediately shoved a small expensive-looking box into Kame’s hands and beamed at his lover, eyes shining with love.
Kame looked at Jin suspiciously for a second before getting hold of his gift. “Thanks, Jin.” He leaned forward to give Jin a peck on his lips.
“Alright, so now, let’s open up the presents okay?” Koki suggested.
“Hooray!”
~*~
After a few minutes, torn wrappers and colorful ribbons were all scattered around messily in the living room of the couple’s apartment.
Shocked gasps, grumbling groans, happy cheering and unsatisfied mumblings were all heard at the same time as soon as their presents came into view. Kame got amused and just continued to stare on at his friends’ and lover’s antics and reactions upon seeing the presents in their hands.
Jin noticed Kame was still sitting in the same position and just kept on laughing at their reactions so he urged Kame to open up his.
“Kazu, open up your gift. See what I have got for you.” He gave a warm and lovely smile.
“Oh… right. Silly me.” Kame laughed out and started to pull the ribbon off the gift. Just then, he noticed that there’s a video-camera in Nakamaru’s hands. Then he halted in his action.
“Nakamaru, why must you film me?” Kame asked inquisitively.
“Because we wanted this moment to last for forever. It will definitely be unforgettable for you.” Nakamaru answered smartly.
“Huh?” A frown started to etch itself in between Kame’s eyebrows.
“Ignore it, Kazu. Just go on, open up your gift.” Jin smiled and urged again.
Kame went on to pull off the wrapper to reveal a maroon jewellery box. He got stunned and stared at the box for a few moments silently.
“That’s e-expensive for a g-gift exchange…” Everyone continued to remain silent and waited to see what Kame’s reaction would be.
Kame brought up his trembling right hand and flipped the box open. And he stayed quiet all the way.
There in the mid of the black, tight slot, stood a magnificent pinky ring.
Seconds ticked by. The time moved on. The silence ensued and stretched out in the apartment.
“K-kazu? Say something.” Jin whispered in fear.
Kame twisted his head slowly to glance at Jin sideway in shock. “… I…”
Jin urged him on with his look. And everyone stared on at the scene, holding their breaths.
Jin not wanting to waste any more time, immediately went down on his knee and said out loud, looking at Kame straight in his glassy orbs. “Will you marry me, Kazuya?”
Kame burst into silent tears as soon as those words left Jin’s lips and stared on at Jin, not speaking anything at all. Jin waited on patiently while everyone stared on, still holding their breaths.
Till a moment when Kame nearly choked on his sobbing, Jin immediately got up and pulled Kame into his tight embrace. “Kazu, calm down.” And he began to run sooth circles on Kame’s back. “Kazu…”
Five minutes passed and Kame finally got to calm down slightly. He swallowed heavily and began to speak up. “J-jin…”
“Hmm?” Jin cooed softly while continued to run soothing circles on his back.
“Jin… I-I do.” Kame murmured.
Jin halted his hand and froze in his position.
“Jin, I do, I really do.”
Jin pulled away and stared at his lover in shock and in happiness. Mixed emotions were filling him up and he couldn’t describe his complicated feelings at the moment. Therefore, his face expression was almost blank.
“Y-you do?” Jin croaked out, feeling unbelievable.
“Yes, I do. I want to marry you, Jin.” Kame smiled elegantly.
Then one second, two seconds, three seconds…
“OH MY GOD! HE AGREED! KAZU HAS AGREED TO MY PROPOSAL! PI, HE AGREED!!!” Jin yelled out at the top of his lungs in happiness, clutching Kame in his arms tightly. Jin turned towards the still filming video-camera and smirked. “I WILL BE MARRYING KAZU!”
“JIN! Stop it, stop shaking me so hard! I’m giddy!” Kame complained.
“Kazu!” Jin immediately bent down and kissed him full on his lips. They kissed till they got almost breathless and panted hard. “I love you so much!” Jin declared. “Thank you for fulfilling my wish. Making my dream to come true. This is the best Christmas gift I have ever gotten.”
Wolf-whistling and loud applauses resonated in the apartment. Friends got crazy for them and as for the couple, they were madly in love and crazy over each other.
“I love you too, Jin.” Kame whispered back. “This is also the best Christmas gift I have ever received and would ever receive. Thank you, Jin, my forever love.”
