Mental Health Questionnaire
What is your diagnosis & how do you currently feel about your diagnosis?: Initially, I had paranoid schizophrenia diagnosed (15 years ago), and still take anti-psychotic meds for this reason... The newer diagnoses are BPD, AvPD, depression, Binge Eating Disorder (all diagnosed in 2017), and PTSD (last July). I do not struggle with the hallucinations anymore, but I think what I experienced "back then" really helped me view things from different perspectives than I was used to. Also, especially the BPD, AvPD, and the PTSD helped me really know what I am dealing with.
Are you receiving outside help/support, for your diagnosis?: I am seeing my psychiatrist on a regular basis, and also have found a lovely therapist who really helps me see things in different lights & who is very supportive.
Are you interested in having e-friends to support you? How will this encourage you?: Sure, even though I wouldn't ( ... )

How active are you on LJ?: Quite active actually. I have taken a small-ish break from LJ in July because I was in hospital, but ever since I tried to post on a more or less regular basis (at least once a week).
What type{s} of LJ friends are you interested in?: Authentic ones. No robots. :D
Various interests, in general?: Making music, drawing, painting, creative writing, listening to music, dancing, spending time with animals, taking walks / being in nature, watching movies, tarot / cartomancy in general, astrology (mainly western & Chinese), palmistry, numerology, reading, learning foreign languages, travelling.
What are some topics you enjoy posting about?: Basically the interests I listed above...
Friending Policy: I am not really strict concerning whether or not my friends have the same interests, for example. As long as people are kind, yet not lying, I feel we should get along fine. :)
Anything Else: It can be that some of my entries deal with "heavier stuff", even though I try not to overdo it. The thing is, I put these ( ... )

What is your diagnosis & how do you currently feel about your diagnosis?: Schizoaffective disorder which basically means both schizophrenia and bipolar. I feel like that mostly makes sense. Definitely bipolar, and enough people have expressed concerns that probably schizo, too.
Are you receiving outside help/support, for your diagnosis?: yes
Are you interested in having e-friends to support you? How will this encourage you?: I guess mostly it's seeing that Im not alone and having people who understand to talk to.
Has your mental illness{es} defined who you are?: In some ways. I was a soldier when discovered, and wound up with an involuntary medical discharge. So, like, it defined who I'm not?
How do you feel about supporting others who live with mental health disorders?: I try to do it whenever I can.
Overall, how would you rate your mental health?: It's not so bad, you know. The voices are my friends, and overall ( ... )

Mental Health Questionnaire
What is your diagnosis & how do you currently feel about your diagnosis?: Major depressive disorder and panic disorder. It was hard to accept at first because there's still such a stigma surrounding mental health but I've been a lot more transparent about both since I found the right meds that work except in extreme circumstances.
Are you receiving outside help/support, for your diagnosis?: I've been in and out of therapy for most of my adult life. I've been seeing the same therapist for 7 years and I'm meds. I don't know how long I'm "supposed" to see a therapist. I'm currently in at the end of the process of filing for ADA at work. I've been to a few psychiatrists but I really wasn't feeling that approach and after I attempted suicide and was hospitalized, the psych the hospital recommended wasn't even accepting new patients. I was lucky enough to find a nurse practitioner to prescribe the right meds that changed my life. I've ( ... )
