Be very, very formal. Semi-colons are a big help, too.

Did you ever do Portfolio Day in school? Treat it like you're writing a cover letter; either way you're trying to impress someone to your side.

keep it brief with just facts. try not to use too many words and keep all opinions out of the letter. make sure you only state what you know, and try not to sound mad at all, just professional.
