hope you don't mind but.. i just want to point out that "light year" is not a measure of time but a measure of distance, and the "へ" in the line "巡り逢うところへ、あと何光年?" also suggests that.
Sorry about this... I don't mean to correct u or anything, my japanese sucks so its just a suggestion... ^^;;

ah thank you very much for your suggestion! and no, i do not mind at all!!! i find it very helpful when others point out things because it helps me become a better translator and besides, it's always good to get a different perspective on something :D

you're very right about light years being a measure of distance. i did notice the directional へ particle and did translate accordingly as heading towards a place, but i did make it sound like light years was a unit of time, so i am sorry about that! D: haha i knew i was going to have a mistake in this somewhere XD

i think what threw me off was the あと ^^;; i guess a more appropriate translation of that line would be "how many light years remain to the place where we will meet by chance?" or "how many more light years will it be to where we will meet by chance?" which one do you think sounds better? :) or, if you have an even better way to translate that line, then that would be great too!

ummm to me the second one sounds closer to the original but the first one is more concise... ahhh its hard =( i'll pick the first, "how many light years remain to the place where we will meet by chance?"
