Vidding is just one of those things...

This is what can be considered me pathetically fangirling over Ray Vecchio and not really a fanvid.

Just be glad I didn't make a video of Fraser set to Green Day's "Basket Case". :p

See you should fangirl more often. Because some of us really enjoyed that. So many reasons to fangirl and you picked the best ones, you did.

It's sad that people don't see Ray in a heroic light *coughPGcough*. It's so obvious he tries his best to do the right thing. Just because his actions are sometimes questionable doesn't mean his heart wasn't in the right place. Because being a hero isn't just about walking through fire and rescuing damsels in distress, it's about going above and beyond the call of duty and that's exactly what Ray does.

Absolutely it's like someone once said bravery is not about a lack or fear it's about overcoming fear and that's what Ray does often - such as when he faces Zuko. Sure he doesn't climb up trees to rescue kittens but he does his best in every difficult situation, he never takes anything for granted. It's funny but I've always read the lyrics of the song you used as working both ways. To Ray Fraser is perhaps the archetypal hero but to Fraser Ray is his hero and with good cause.

The lyrics do work both ways. Because to Ray, Fraser is the embodiment of a fairytale hero and because Ray was able to see Fraser at work, I think that helped Ray to overcome his own fears and bring out the hero in himself. They're both heroes, but they're heroic in different ways. Fraser is a fairytale or a superhero, he's an ideal. But Ray is your every day hero, the type you see in your neighborhood firefighters, your social workers, your doctors and nurses. Ray is the embodiment of the silent heroes who don't get recognition, who don't stand out from the crowd, but nonetheless makes a difference. And the sad thing is, Ray himself doesn't recognize that.
