On wolves

Because there are misconceptions of what wolves do/are and Dief is half-wolf (which doesn't make much of a difference, although hybrids tend to be more dangerous to humans than a pure wolf - Fraser, what were you thinking?), so a little misconception clearing up.

1) Yep wolves bark. Makes sense considering dogs are descended from wolves.

2) Most land based male mammals have external testes it would.

I want to know how they got the order to put him down rescinded. Would that judge have said 'Okay, so he was protecting his pregnant girlfriend, okay no prblem he can go and live freely.'

I wonder how Fraser manages to keep him legally. Hmmmm.

Yeah, how Dief managed to get of the hook always seemed a little fishy to me. I doubt "defending his pregnant girlfriend" is likely to change the judge's mind that Dief is a dangerous and violent animal. I mean, if someone injured another person in defense of their girlfriend, the person would still be liable for the injury, so let alone when the person was a wolf-dog ( ... )

Yep and people can tell you more about their emotional state, they can go to prison and get time off for good behaviour. None of that will apply to Dief.

And in some ways, I would say keeping Dief as a pet poses a much greater threat to neighborhood safety than Ray searching without a warrant. I mean, sure, Dief is well trained when Fraser's around, but we know he can be vicious if he thinks it's necessary and not everyone knows how to deal with Dief. No matter how well Fraser may think he knows his animal companion, it doesn't change the fact that Dief has an innate tendency for predatory behavior, so there isn't good justification for him breaking the law in Dief's case.
Fraser even constantly points out to Dief - you’re a carnivore, you’re predisposed to hunt. I don't think Fraser shouldn’t be worried about Dief's junkfood habit at least it’s keeping him from ( ... )

Of course, the whole thing that got me the most confused about Wild Bunch is why didn't Fraser appeal to the courts to get Dief shipped to the Yukon instead of putting him down?

I think there's a law about if an animal poses any sort of danger to people they have to be destroyed, so releasing it into the wild wouldn't have been an option. I thought it was mentioned in the episode though it might have been something else I've seen.
